I gotta admit that saying I'm not the biggest He-Man buff would be an understatement. Why not be truthful from the beginning and just market it as the Teela show? Even if that in the show is not Teela but thats just IMHO why not accept that its just a lot of fans that are unhappy with the endresult? Because if many fans are unhappy it is reviewbombing. And how are they allowed to express that. So when are fans allowed to be unhappy with a product. And they are suprised when fans are unhappy? Some of us actually LIKE Male heroes in our shows. Because its a show for ALL audience now? So all woman with little male is all audience because man have to watch it to not be called misagenist when they dont like it. Why not make a show about He-Man and give Teela a good role (and her old haircut). But Damn those fans that thought it was about He-Man and are now unhappy.Īlso why change it. It was made for the old fans. The first trailer made it look like its about he-Man. That suspicion was recently confirmed by the actress herself in an Instagram post that expressed her desire to move forward as an "actress-for-hire.So Smith said it was about He-Man. However, Wonder Woman 1984 was a major disappointment, and Gunn's plan to do a quasi-reboot on the DC Universe has led many to guess Gadot is out, much like Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill. The Israeli actress received acclaim for her take on Wonder Woman, with many considering her one of the few bright spots in the DCEU. Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman is nowhere to be found in any of the studio's upcoming projects. However, one-third of the DC Trinity remains a question mark. Overall, things in the ever-struggling DC corner seem to be moving along. New DC honcho James Gunn is deep in preproduction on his much-anticipated Superman movie, while Flash director Andy Muschietti will seemingly direct the upcoming Batman movie The Brave and the Bold. The franchise's current installment, the long-delayed and controversial The Flash, premiered on June 16 to indifferent fan reaction and mediocre box office. The DC Universe is trying to stay afloat amid an increasingly competitive entertainment landscape. Masters of the Universe: Revelation - Part 2 trailer unleashes Savage He-Man Netflix shares first look at pictures from The Gray Man Michael Straczynski.ĭirector Patrick Hughes on The Man from Toronto and working with Kevin Hart While primarily intended to sell toys, the cartoon launched a number of high-profile Hollywood careers, including that of Babylon 5 creator J. The cartoon series, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, followed a few years later. He-Man was created by Mattel designers Mark Taylor and Roger Sweet in 1980 in an attempt to create a line of action figures to compete with Kenner’s ultra-popular Star Wars toys. In addition to the previously mentioned She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, the streaming service recently revived cult favorites Invader Zim and Rocko’s Modern Life. Masters of the Universe: Revelation is just one of many nostalgia-driven animated sequels, at Netflix. “This is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid!” “I’m Eternia-ly grateful to Mattel TV and Netflix for entrusting me with not only the secrets of Grayskull, but also their entire Universe,” Smith said in a statement. The series will resolve dangling plot threads from that series, and will build to “what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. Masters of the Universe: Revelation, an anime-inspired production animated by the same company that does Netflix’s Castlevania, will pick up right where the original ’80s cartoon left off. In light of those efforts, letting Smith loose on He-Man’s kid-friendly take on the sword and sorcery genre doesn’t seem like so much of a stretch.įor his part, Smith seems enthusiastic about spending some time in Eternia. He’s also worked in animation before, most notably by creating Clerks: The Animated Series and helming Marvel’s upcoming Howard the Duck. Later, he wrote The Green Hornet and The Bionic Man for Dynamite Entertainment. In the late ’90s, Smith helped Marvel revamp Daredevil and revived Oliver Queen as Green Arrow for DC Comics. However, Smith has written a fair number of action stories, too.
